She had come home after another day of work that had kept her more than busy. She and Regina had more than their share of confrontations today. Fighting over who was Henry's mother. Tonight Henry wanted to spend with Regina. Needless to say, she had decided to rub it in her face which left the sheriff angry yet again. Pulling up outside the apartment she and her family shared, her hands gripped the steering wheel and she didn't want to let go. What she wanted to do was go to the Evil Queen's and take her son from the house and bring him home. But no, then Henry would be upset with her and it would only just push him further into Regina's arms. It had been cold enough out that she'd been dressed appropriately. Now that her day was over, which also consisted of talking to Hook about his sudden appearance in town. She knew that her father would have something to say about that. What was Hook doing there, etc? Not a conversation she was ready to have just yet. She couldn't help but be enticed by his movements towards her. Again not something she was going to divulge to her parents. Mary Margaret was much more understanding when it came to love advice, but then when it came to David, he had seemed to take on the fatherly role that he would have, given the chance had he raised her the entire time. It made her laugh inwardly, but it also made her feel angry sometimes because they abandoned her. That talk was coming the one that @charming and @snow wanted to have. They wanted to know all about her. What she had been doing all this time. It was a conversation she'd been avoiding. It was now time and it seemed appropriate that Henry was away for the evening. Hence the reason that she was tempted to go get him from Regina. Stepping into the apartment after looking at the doorknob not seeing a tie. "Oh, please tell me you're not having sex and forgot to put a tie on the door?" It was bad enough that they had traumatized her once.

that anyone can change her life. Everything seemed to have fallen back into place. It wasn't exactly what Mary Margaret would classify as normal, even for the Enchanted Forest, but she had her family back. Storybrooke wasn't the Enchanted Forest...which was a daily reminder that the curse was broken, but they weren't home yet. Home was where the people she loved were. She knew that with all her heart - but that didn't stop her from yearning for the land they all came from every now and then. Every day she was grateful that she remembered who David was. It almost seemed impossible that she could have ever forgotten him. Her Prince Charming. She'd never forget seeing him in the town square after the curse was lifted. Neither one of them would know how close he'd come to driving over the town line and forgetting who he was forever.
From the moment they met they'd made a good team. Their first meeting may have been a bit cheeky, but it was a different time and Snow had been on the run. She'd had to find ways to survive. Even if that meant dabbling in a bit of thievery from the Queen's carriages. She'd have never stolen from her father's people. But from the moment they'd met it felt like they were star crossed. He was to be married, and Snow was not a home wrecker. No matter the opinion of the Evil Queen. It was no wonder that they had faced the same thing in their Storybrooke lives. But they always found each other, and they always would.
And then there was Emma...her beautiful daughter. It was hard to look at her and not think of all the things that they had missed. Her first steps, her first words. Her first heart break...but Snow knew what Emma's first heart break was, and she and David caused it. For the best reason there was...to give her her best chance. Unfortunately, that didn't change the fact that her daughter had grown up alone. It broke her heart...because she'd had so many plans for them... It was hard not to be a bit melancholy about the way things worked out. Even though the curse was broken Regina's threat had been fulfilled. She took away their greatest happiness. Raising Emma.
The couple was cooking dinner together that evening. The oven was on and working at full steam, and there was a bottle of wine and three glasses on the counter. She had gotten started on dinner after school, and David had only just gotten home from the station and got the wine out for them. Apparently it had been that sort of day. He'd told her that Emma would be on her way soon, right after she got Henry settled at Regina's. Sure enough, the door to the apartment swung open not twenty minutes later and their daughter walked in. Emma looked a bit surly, but that wasn't likely to stop David from asking about Hook. It had come to their attention that he, and his ship, were in Storybrooke. Now that the curse had broken there could be a lot of danger lurking out there. Hook could be only one of many, but they need to know if he was a threat...and what he was in Storybrooke for.
Snow wrinkled her nose at the comment about her and David being in a compromising position. It was weird to hear her daughter talk like that, and another reminder that Emma was an adult. That little baby she held in her arms, and grieved over for those last short moments she remembered who she was, was an adult now. "Hey Emma. Did you have a good day at work?" Mary Margaret asked, ignoring the blonde woman's comment about the tie on the door. That was an embarrassing situation she'd rather not dwell on. She knew by the look on her daughter's face that jumping right into the questions about Hook without giving her a chance to breathe wouldn't be helpful. She had a soft and empathetic look on her face. Mary Margaret was genuinely eager to do whatever she could to help Emma find her happiness. 0695! emma&charming! home! wearing!

As David did the kitchen waltz with his loving wife Snow, Mary... whatever, he thought about their relationship, their struggles and the trials that they'd faced together and apart. She was his true love, and he was overjoyed that he had her back. David had not long gotten home from helping his daughter in the sheriff's office. As he entered the apartment he put his things away before kissing Snow on the cheek and giving her a long loving hug. So much had happened in the last few weeks, years... decades. It was fantastic for him to get his family back, and Henry, his grandson was amazing. He loved spending time with him, an eternal believer. David looked at Snow as she moved around the kitchen like it was a well co-ordinated dance, she was beautiful, elegant and he was well and truly in awe of his wife.
David loved who his wife was, and who he was when with her. All during the curse he had felt empty, well not quite empty, but half full, not whole. Then He'd found Mary Margaret and he began to feel whole again, once the curse was lifted he couldn't believe magic had made him forget her... never again. David and Snow had always managed to find each other in the end. They were a great and not to mention forever soul mates. He regretted nothing in their relationship, even the bad stuff. The bad and low points they'd have to face had made their relationship stronger, better and more secure. There wasn't much they couldn't face and defeat if they were together... all of them, including their daughter and her son. Did he regret not raising Emma? No, he wished they could have raised her, he wished that she could have had the life they wanted for her, but he would never wish she was anything more or less than who she was today. He missed these opportunities, but they weren't regrets as such, maybe just wishes sometimes.
Charming thought about everything going on at the moment, with Hook and Regina... it was all a lot for the small family unit, but not too much. They always found each other and got through any adversary they encountered. David got the wine for the couple's meal and opened it with ease as he put the cork screw back in the drawer. He took out two wine glasses and left them to the side whilst the meal continued cooking. He turned as he heard the lock unlock and the door open. He smiled at Emma's words and shook his head. It was VERY odd to think he had a daughter at 28. She was two years younger than him technically... mind you that wasn't the oddest thing ever to happen to him. But Emma was everything he could hope for in a grown daughter. She was confident, independent, smart and loyal. Loyalty was a huge part of Charming's personality and Snow's as well. He was proud of his daughter, especially the way she had been handling he and Snow being her parents, magic coming into the world and reconnecting with Henry in such a strong way. She may not believe she was mother material when she had the boy, but David could see she most definitely had the mother instinct when it came to her son. As David said, incredibly proud of who his daughter was.
"Hello to you too Emma. Did you see Henry?" He asked, he wanted to ask abotu Hook, but he had sense, much like his wife, that a bit of other chat was required first. Also David wamned his family together more than anything, that included his grandson. "How's he doing?" He asked and stirred the pot that Snow had been dealing with moments ago.

She noted the look in Mary Margaret's face about them being under the covers when she and Henry had come in a few days prior. Luckily Henry didn't quite understand that just yet. "Sorry about that, @snow. I didn't mean that to embarrass you." David looked happy to be with Mary Margaret alone for a little bit before Emma had arrived home. "Sorry I'm a little late. I had to drop Henry off at Regina's." Her voice showed frustration. They knew that she disliked Regina. It was hate at first. But they had taught her that family meant so much. Emma never had any family to speak of. The only family she had to speak of really was Neal. That was the closest she'd ever had until now. And just how could she explain that? Now hate was too strong a word. Well, it was still a word she could use, but didn't like to in front of her parents. "Henry's good." She said with a smile. "You know him. But he wanted to spend the night with Regina." A sadness in her voice as though her son had chosen the Evil Queen over her.
Slipping her jacket off, Emma hung it up on the hook along with hat and gloves inside the pockets. Dinner smelled wonderful. It was nice not to have to eat at Granny's all the time. It seemed like they were always eating there. It wasn't like they couldn't eat lunch at home. "How was your day, Mary Margaret?" @charming's day, she already knew about. They worked together. It was nice so they could get to know one another. They were teaching her more about family everyday. "How's Henry doing in school?"
Taking a seat at the table after she set down the plates, bowls, flatware salad and drinks, her brows furrowed. "This must be strange for you. Cooking and cleaning when you had others to do it all for you?" So many days she'd lived.... Ugh she didn't want to think about it. But then her parents, who were as old as her wanted to know about her past, how she grew up would want to know these things.

that anyone can change her life. Never in a million years would Snow have thought that her family life would have lead to…this. A daughter her age, a grandson at 27, and living in a world outside of the one she had always known. But when she looked around she couldn't help but be satisfied. Her sweet husband was helping her with dinner and her beautiful daughter had come home from a profession was good at and she enjoyed to boot. What more could a mother ask for? Well…maybe the chance to watch her daughter grow…but she couldn't resent the past too much. It's what brought her to this moment. Because they hadn't been given the blessing of raising her, it wasn't like they could tell her how to live her life now.
That's not to say they didn't have opinions…because there were some things they knew a bit more about than she did. Well, the parts of their lives and the people that came from the Enchanted Forest and many other magical lands, anyways. The legends, the magical realms…the hooked pirates. Both Snow and David had chosen the small talk route first - which she appreciated. They might as well have a few lovely moments before the evening had the potential to degrade into a disagreement.
At the end of the day, she just wanted what was best for her daughter - and what made her the happiest. Hook couldn't be trusted. That sort of came with the whole pirate thing. At the same time, she knew that her daughter wouldn't take kindly to them suggesting who she should and shouldn't trust. Emma apologized for embarrassing her with the reminder of accidentally walking in on her and David, and Mary Margaret just laughed slightly and shook her head. But not without stealing a glance at her husband. There would never come a day that she wouldn't love him. "No…no…it's alright. We'll remember. Tie on the door," Snow laughed a little, and grinned at David before opening up the oven for a second to check on their dinner.
Emma told them that Henry was doing well, but that he wanted to stay with Regina. A small smile came to Mary Margaret's face. He was going to be Regina's hero, just like they'd talked about. But that meant that her daughter was disappointed because he wasn't staying with them. "Well, then, we'll have to open up a second bottle of wine," she half-joked, seeing the gloomy look on Emma's face. She might need it. "So…your father tells me someone from Neverland is here," she commented, still slicing up carrots for the salad as she spoke. "…he didn't try to hurt you did, he?" she asked. Snow thought it might be easier to display her distrust for Hook and her concern for Emma in the same breath. Maybe it would go over a bit better that way. 0486! emma&charming! home! wearing!

Watching Emma and Snow, David listened to both and felt himself frown when Emma said that Henry was staying with Regina. Even though things had changed now, it still was automatic for David to not trust the Evil Queen... Henry or no Henry. He didn't want her taking anything else away from them as a family. She'd already taken Emma growing up from them... David closed his eyes briefly to shake the thoughts away, this wasn't the time nor the place for those type of thoughts. "Well I'm sure he'll be back tomorrow. I'm taking him up to the stables again." David said regarding his grandson. "Feel free to join us one of these days, he's getting quite good." He told his daughter. Henry was a natural at it, really he was, however David wouldn't be telling Emma and Snow that at the moment. He wanted it to be Henry's surprise to show them how far he'd came with his riding. David looked to Emma as Snow mentioned a second bottle of wine. He knew that Henry staying at Regina's wasn't the only reason they might need more wine. As Snow mentioned the next bit of recent news of that days events. He smiled at Snow's protect 'he didn't hurt you, did he?' His wife was rather protective of all her family and Emma being 8 months, 8 years or 28 years old didn't matter... He looked to Emma and knew she'd pass it off as nothing, well at the moment there wasn't much to tell he supposed, however he still didn't trust Hook. However, David may not trust Hook, or Regina, or Gold... but he trusted Emma, and her judgement. Yes he and Mary Margaret knew more about the Enchanted Forest side of the story, but Emma was sheriff of Storybrook and he was sure she would do right for her family, and for her town. He raised an eyebrow at Emma saying they had people to do it all, he laughed a little, "Emma your mother was generally down watching, learning and teaching people in the kitchen how to do it all... if, of course she wasn't teaching the guards how to shoot and the flowers how to grow..." He smirked. Obviously the last one had been a joke but David liked to think they had been quite... different from other royals simply from the fact that they didn't have a standard royal upbringing... he didn't have any royal upbringing in fact. "But yes, we had people that cooked, cleaned and whatever else needed done in the castle." He told her and thought about it, it felt like it was a distant memory these days. Did he miss it? Of course, but he liked having Emma and Henry around more. Emma Swan

She smiled at Mary Margaret's comment of the tie on the door. It embarrassed her. Though just the other day they were talking about one night stands. Whale and Mary Margaret had had one. Thinking about it now and who they all were, it seemed wrong that the woman before her would ever sleep with anyone but Prince Charming. It actually made her shiver. The idea that they were her parents was sinking in more and more.
Emma slipped onto one of the bar stools at the island and listened to her mother talk about how her father mentioned how Hook was in town. "Oh yeah, Captain Hook. He's from the Peter Pan fairy tales I used to read as a kid." She shook her head. "I swear, I'm going to bring my books back here from Boston so you can all read the fairy tales that I read about you. None of this is what I read about. And Hook is way better looking than in the book and he's hunting a real crocodile." The concern was noted. Her head fell to the table face first and one of her arms waved her off as she let it fall upon the other as they crossed in front of her. "No. He didn't ty to hurt me. Even if he did, he would have been in for a big surprise. I can handle myself." She sounded exasperated. "He's a bit annoying and tried hitting on me. So he's one of the typical men I dated in Boston." She wasn't thinking of who she was telling this to. Telling her parents about how she was dating.
Her mother spent time in the kitchen? A smile crossed her face. "That's cool that you did all that, Mom." Ugh that sounded so weird. They were so young and she'd just found them. "Sorry. I didn't mean to." Her head fell back into her arms on the counter top. Seeing that her father had opened the wine, she quickly poured herself some. "What's it like there?"
